Professional Writer
What exactly is professional writing? To me, professional writing is the art of translation. It's the ability to take complex topics, organizational values or strategic goals and transform them into engaging and accessible content that informs and inspires an audience. In my own writing process, I am consistently asking myself: Who am I writing this for? What is my organization's overall goal? What does my audience need to hear for this message to resonate?
This subset of my portfolio is divided into three categories: Undergraduate Research, Designed Articles and Personal Narrative.
Undergraduate Research showcases my ability to write proposals and present complex research in a way that is easily understood by stakeholders and general audiences.
Designed Articles exemplifies my ability to translate complex topics for various audiences while working within a predetermined genre or brand.
Personal Narrative may appear as an outlier in this section. While, written within a more personal context, this piece too was written intentionally with an audience and purpose in mind. More than that, this piece showcases how storytelling builds connection, enhancing the impact of any professional writing piece.
